Definition of Terms

  • Provider: A healthcare professional or facility that offers medical services and manages appointment availability.

  • Patient: An individual seeking medical care.

  • Availability Slot: A scheduled time period during which a provider is available to see a patient for consultation or treatment.

  • Patient-Facing Side: The section of the system accessible to patients, allowing them to join waitlists and manage their bookings.

  • Clinic Admin Side: The interface used by clinic staff and administrators to manage provider waitlists and availabilities efficiently.

  • Visit Type: The mode of consultation, which can be either Virtual or In-Person.

  • Visit Reason: The medical concern or issue for which a patient seeks consultation with a provider.

  • Preferred Time: The time period selected by a patient to receive notifications only for available slots within that timeframe. Preferred time options include:

    • Early Morning – 7 AM to 9 AM
    • Morning – 9 AM to 12 PM
    • Afternoon – 12 PM to 4 PM
    • Evening – 4 PM to 7PM
